Professional Bio – Robert W Miller, RAA
Rob Miller is the Owner and Chief Appraiser of Realty Consulting Group, LLC, based in Charlotte, North Carolina. With nearly four decades of experience in real estate valuation and finance, Rob is widely regarded as a trusted expert in residential appraisal across the Carolinas.
Rob began his appraisal career in 1986 and has performed and reviewed thousands of residential appraisals throughout the Charlotte metro area since 1996. He is a Certified Residential Appraiser in both North Carolina (A3831) and South Carolina (3237) and is FHA and VA approved. He also holds the RAA designation from the National Association of Realtors, reflecting advanced expertise and professionalism in valuation practice .
Prior to founding Realty Consulting Group in 2009, Rob owned and operated Miller Appraisal Group, which grew to become one of the largest residential appraisal firms in the Charlotte market before being successfully sold and merged into another firm. Over the course of his career, Rob has trained and mentored more than 30 residential appraisers—many of whom have gone on to establish successful firms of their own .
In addition to appraisal, Rob brings valuable perspective from his experience in mortgage origination, branch management, and real estate brokerage, giving him a well-rounded understanding of how valuation impacts builders, lenders, and buyers alike. He has also served on the curriculum committee for Appraisal, Real Estate, and Mortgage Banking at Central Piedmont Community College and has instructed North Carolina–approved continuing education courses on identity theft and mortgage fraud .
Rob holds a BA in Accounting from Siena College and proudly served ten years as an Engineer Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve, earning an honorable discharge at the rank of Captain. He currently provides appraisal services throughout Mecklenburg and Union Counties in North Carolina, and Lancaster and York Counties in South Carolina.
